I was born a poor black child…(I keed, I keed)

Seriously…

It’s a continuing pattern in my life to set my mind to learning something and then jump in with both feet. Sometimes, I forget to put my water wings on and I will fail miserably. Not so the case with crochet. I picked up a hook in December, 2007 in the hopes that it would help me quit smoking and once things stopped looking like kidneys and I learned about the concept of turning chains, I never looked back.

Since then I have learned much, made many mistakes, and used up tons of yarn.

I grew up in Maine and moved to the western suburbs of Philadelphia in 2004. By day, I’m project management assistant for a sign company and by night I am the mom of a 14 year old boy, two cats, two betta fish, and three plants. So far the plants seem to be the most responsive.

I am a compulsive crafter and thankfully, there is no cure. I started out with sewing my own clothes at age 9, moved on to painting, cross stitch, Hardanger lace, beading, weaving, digital art, paper cutting, Ukrainian Easter Eggs, crochet, and now knitting. I'm sure I forgot a few things in that list ... I also have an IT degree from the University of Phoenix but currently do work as a Technical Writer.

I'm single, but I have a cat, Truffles, and a Shih Tzu, Kaylee, and my youngest sister lives with me. I'm currently in Holladay, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City, and, unfortunately, my boyfriend is still back in Houston.

I decided to start this site because I love crochet and wanted to have an e-zine specifically for crochet available. I'm looking forward to seeing it grow and making as many of the patterns published as I can!
